Edmonton May Limit Mid-Block Housing to 6 Units

Edmonton city councillors are considering amending the zoning bylaw to cap mid-block multi-family buildings at 6 units instead of 8.

The proposal follows a sharp rise in new housing approvals since the bylaw took effect in 2024.
